“Invectivity” and Theology: Martin Luther’s <i>Ad librum Ambrosii Catharini</i> (1521) in Context

چکیده
Abstract Luther’s treatise is presented as an answer to attacks from the Italian Dominican Ambrosius Catharinus. The language highly invective, and argument culminates in a comprehensive biblical verification of terrifying truth: that pope Antichrist foreseen several texts. papal Curia part Antichrist’s realm. Relating Heiko Oberman’s thoughts on theological roots “invectivity,” article offers closer look into radically offensive his early years, arguing it was closely linked central convictions at least since 1520/21.
